Mostly all the websites show stuff like museums and stuff but im 20 and im going with my boyfriend so we want some help on some exciting things we shouldn't miss while in quebec. I wont be driving but we are going to chose our city by the amount of stuff it has to offer. So as long as it is within city limits so i can go out to clubs as well that would be perfect. Thanks!! :)

The old cities of Montreal & Quebec City. A touch of old Europe.

I live in Montreal, and this is my advice:

1. Get hotel anywhere in the downtown core. (Ex: Comfort Suites, Holiday Inn, Mariott, Omni or Sofitel if you have the money... or check out ONESPOUT.COM for Montreal daily deals, they often have deals on hotels and such.)

2. Clubs: If you're 20, you'll like the street Crescent & St.Laurent. All of Crescent, and St.Laurent between Sherbrooke and rue Prince Arthur is fun. Even a little more above Prince Arthur...

3. Definitely check out the Portuguese Area (as mentioned below), it's where many of us Montrealers hang out. This is near street St.Denis/Sherbrooke. (or metro: Berri Uquam)

4. The old city (or as we call it, Vieux Port, Old Port...) is gorgeous in the spring/summer. Go in May the earliest, before that, it's not very happening. Maybe plan a day at the Scandanavian Spa, or spa BOTA BOTA. (Spa on a boat, gorgeous views of the city. And you can do the 'hot/cold' baths for only 50$ each.). I wouldn't eat in the old port though, (very touristy), but I would recommend 'Jardins Nelson', or restaurant 'Holder'. Keep in mind there are a lot of BYOW restaurants too (if you're on a budget), there's STEAK FRITES, L' Academie, (some of the few better known, and easy to get to...)

5. There's the museum of Fine Art in Montreal which is gorgeous. And many other's. Everything is walkable (depending on the weather) or 100% reached by the underground metro. Which IS safe and EASY. 3$ a ride.

6. If you go to Quebec City, (maybe after seeing montreal?) Take a train or BUS (big bus terminal near Berri Uquam metro...). Quebec City is very touristy, so you won't have a problem getting around, or speaking english. Just do your research first on where to go to eat, my friends have had problems with that (expensive and touristy, not good food. And there are many nice restaurants in Quebec City, so do the research!:) .)

Have fun planning your trip!

When are you coming? Winter or summer, makes a big difference. I the winter, you can come see the new Snow Village in Montreal (Jean-Drapeau metro). Great restaurant, bar, sights, people, music, and you can even stay the night in an igloo if you want. Besides that, you can check out the club scene on Saint=Laurent, Saint-Denis or Crescent Street, if you have a significant other with you, you should go take a caleche ride (horse-drawn carriage, available at the Old Port), or just wander the streets of Old Montreal and Downtown Montreal. Not only that, but you'll have the Festival des Lumieres on, which offers lots of entertainment.

If you don't want to go outside, you could spend your entire holiday shopping, going to movies/concerts/theatre, eating and drinking in the Underground City. Montreal has one of the largest indoor corridor networks linking shopping malls, theatres, museums, and restaurants of all kinds... You could also spend some time in the Casino de Montreal, one of the largest casinos this side of Vegas. You'll find multiple bars/restaurants as well as thousands of slot machines, table games, poker of all kinds, and regular concerts. With free parking and coat check, you can spend a lot of time in there forgetting about the weather outside.

If in Quebec City, you could check out the Carnaval d'Hiver, and even stay in the Ice Hotel if you like. If you're a history buff, the amazingly preserved walled city is simply beautiful. Also, one of my favourite foodie cities.

I would definitely say that there's more to do in Montreal in the winter than in any other city in Quebec, possibly all of Canada, whether you bundle up and brave the cold or choose to stay indoors.

Go to Quebec City.

The modern city has grown up around the fully-preserved 400+ year old walled city.

It's hands-down the most beautiful city in North America - http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=184116

You can wander the narrow cobblestone streets of Old Quebec then head to the modern, award-winning Place Fleur de Lys mall for some shopping.

You can take a caleche ride (horse-drawn carriage) then go party at clubs like Dagobert or Complexe Maurice.

You can sleep in a cozy, historic hotel like Maison du Fort then blow your tastebuds away with French Canadian cuisine in restaurants like Le Patriarche or La Cremaillere.

Here's a link to the city's official tourism site - http://www.quebecregion.com/en

Yahoo Search or Google more info because there's lots to see and do there.

?, right now in Montreal, we have the ice hotel, yes it is a hotel constructed out of ice, with a chapel if you want to get married, bars, restaurant, and to take a room, it's like $350.00 CAD, per night. We have a couple of frozen rivers that you can ice skate for miles if your into that, tubing on most of the slopes, as well as snowboarding, cross country skiing. There are a few places on Sherbrook, and St Laurent Blvd, for the night life, also fine cuisine in the Little Italy sector, we were there last night.

Old Montreal, there is always something going on there, also Place Bonaventure. Not 100% sure, but there were a couple of shows coming up at the Bell Centre. The Nature Centre at Laval, musical ice skating under lights. St Savure, you can take out a husky team and go sledding, there is transport you can take to get there.

Look it's to numerous to list.

Montreal - the shops in the old city are great, and the Portuguese section (near McGill) is fun, too.

Quebec - Montmorency Falls; walk the old city; walk the Plains of Abraham
