I know some french (few years of it) but im native in english. It is a bilingual city though so i shouldn't have trouble finding a casual small job if i go there on a working holiday visa right?

Start of with a good base a few months of nice practicing, you should pick it up more

Commencer avec une bonne base de quelques mois de pratique agréable, vous devez le prendre plus

Ask your self this question.........If the job interview was conducted entirely in French, could you do that ? How about the application form, if it is in French, it will be, for sure ? Can you speak French well enough to be able to serve customers, who ONLY speak French ??

If you are applying for a Visa to come to Canada, why don't you go to the 80 percent of the country that speaks English. as their working language, and skip the hassels of trying to work in Quebec ?

Even in Ottawa, I had tremendous difficulty finding work without fluent French. While there may be unilingual English speakers working in Montreal, these would be very specialized people normally, like doctors, etc. For regular jobs, it would be very difficult to be hired.

In Quebec, depending on where you are working, yes you will require French, as it is is one of the main languages in Quebec.

Hi!

Most people in Montreal speak English although some pretend not to speak English but they do.

You can survive without French but it affects your chances of getting a job or being promoted
